Located in the North West of France, near the town of Angers, the EREA “Les Terres Rouges (Red ground in French) is a secondary and vocational school.
Under the direction of Mrs Marie-Thérèse Burr, we welcome 2 classes in secondary boarding school for pupils aged 13-14 with severe learning difficulties. The second part, for students aged form 15 to 18 in average is dedicated to a vocational part. Students, in sections of 8 per workshop learn in 2 years how to become painter, metalworker, woodworker or builder. They prepare a CAP (Professional Abilities Certificate) in 2 years. About 100 Students and 40 adults (teachers, office, catering).
The EREA is a public school financed by the Loire Valley Region. The school is free. The families only have to pay the meals and the transport.
Our missions :
- To lead the teenagers (boys and girls) coping with severe learning difficulties to build up their professional project and get a professional qualification (within the EREA or in another vocational school after the 3ème)
- To prevent and solve social and learning difficulties,
- The boarding section brings educational answers to geographical, family or social problems.
